Ogólne zasady numeracji pociągów

1. 1. Train - railroad vehicle albo set of railroad vehicles that meets conditions fixed for trains and to which infrastructure owner set the train status.
2. Status of the train has set of carriages or other railroad vehicles connected with working traction unit or only traction unit, properly signalled and ready for driving/in the route.
3. Due to the types of made transport trains are divided for such categories::

  1. passenger;
  2. freight;
  3. service(utrzymaniowo - naprawcze).

4. All running trains recieve number, which is single, unique and used for whole route, what is set to a train type.
SWDR4 system makes impossible to set the number, what is already used by another user.
5. Trains driving in direction with raising mileage of line are marked by odd number and trains driving in reverse direction - even numbers (note - see point 6).
6. Number of train is changed on the route properly to line mileage, but strict rules of changing it are applied: 0/1, 2/3, 4/5, 6/7, 8/9 eg. 5100 to 5101, 12105 to 12104 etc.
Because TD2 connects sceneries dynamically, it is advised to set one number for whole route (exception is wrong train category).
7. Domestic passenger trains are marked by 4 and 5-digit numbers.
8. For trains what are changing category on the route (eg. from MPE to EIE, ROJ to RPJ) for whole route number from running train is still applicable.
In TD2 for properly justified category change by train driver dispatcher is responsible. Dispatcher has to change category in SWDR4 and include information in Uwagi eksploatacyjne about it eg.:
"Changing the train category from ROJ to RPJ"

9. Domestic freight, service and non-commercial trainsare marked by 6-digit number.
10. International trains are signed with resolution cards UIC 419-1 for passenger trains and 419-2 for freight trains and with arrangements of international conferences and proper national number for a type of train. However in Poland such trains have their own number which has 4 or 5 digits and this number should be used in TD2.
11. For short international border routes it's allowed to use only the international number. It doesn't apply to TD2.
12. 1st digit in 4,5,6-digit national trains means the number of construction area for the station where the train starts.
If a train starts ride on scenery which has real post(s) (e.g. Gdańsk, Wrocław), train driver should set the first digit of train number according to the construction area.
It isn't obligatory.

13. 2nd digit in 4,5,6-digit national trains means the number of construction area for the station where the train ends.
14. The rest of digits mean the type of train. There should be used numbering order for specific train type and relation in a day time.
15. Number indication of construction areas:

  1. Warszawa - 1
  2. Lublin - 2
  3. Kraków - 3
  4. Sosnowiec - 4
  5. Gdańsk - 5
  6. Wrocław - 6
  7. Poznań - 7
  8. Szczecin - 8
  9. Reserve - 9

16. The number indciation of first two digits for trains which start and finish their route in the same construction area - irrespective of train type:

  1. 10, 11, 19, 91, 93, 97, 99 - Warszawa.
  2. 20, 22, 29 - Lublin.
  3. 30, 33, 39, - Kraków.
  4. 40, 44, 49, 94, - Sosnowiec.
  5. 50, 55, 59, 90, 95, 96 - Gdańsk.
  6. 66, 60, 69 - Wrocław.
  7. 77, 70, 79 - Poznań.
  8. 88, 80 - Szczecin.
  9. 89, 92, 98 - Construction reserve.

17. 4-digit numbering: 3rd and 4th digit from range 00-99 - express national passenger train:

  1. a) express national (including Intercity) - EI.

18. 5-digit numbering:

  1. 3,4,5 digit from range 001-049 - international passenger trains:
    a) international express EuroCity - EC,
    b) night express international EuroNight - EN,
    c) International bullet train - MM.
  2. 3,4,5 digit from range 050-169 - national passenger bullet trains:
    a) intervoivodeship bullet - MP,
    b) voivodeship national bullet - RP.
  3. 3,4,5 digit from range 170-199 - national passenger bullet trains:
    a) intervoivodeship bullet night or hotel type - MH.
  4. 3,4,5 digit from range 200 - 999 - the rest of passenger trains.

19. In 6-digit numbers 3rd digit means:

  1. International cargo trains - 0:
    a) for intermodal unit transport - TC.
  2. International cargo trains - 1:
    a) for mass transport - TG,
    b) for non-mass transport - TR.
  3. National cargo trains - 2:
    a) for intermodal unit transport - TD.
  4. National cargo trains - 3:
    a) for non-mass transport - TN,
    b) for station and siding service - TK.
  5. National cargo trains - 4:
    a) for mass transport - TM.
  6. Cargo trains - 5:
    a) do przewozów wagonów z/do naprawy i próbne - TS,
    b) loco set - over 3 locos - TH,
    c) lokomotywy luzem do i od pociągów - LT.
  7. Pociągi pasażerskie niehandlowe - 6:
    a) próżne składy od/do pociągów pasażerskich - PW,
    b) próżny skład pasażerski [próbne, pojazdy trakcyjne i pomocnicze w stanie nieczynnym, skład lokomotyw] - PX,
    c) locomotives from/to passenger trains - LP.
  8. Passenger and cargo trains - 7, 8:
    a) Construction reserve.
  9. Service trains (utrzymaniowo - naprawowe) - 9:
    a) pociągi inspekcyjne i diagnostyczne - ZN,
    b) inne utrzymaniowe - ZU,
    c) lokomotywy luzem od/do pociągów utrzymaniowo-naprawczych - LZ,
    d) pozostałe lokomotywy luzem, lokomotywy od/do prac manewrowych, pojazd kolejowy zaliczany do taboru specjalnego, pojazd pomocniczy - LS.
  10. Rescue trains - ZG there should be used 2-digit numeration which starts with 11 or 12.

Digits 4, 5, 6 for 6-digit numbers contain in division 000-899.
Digits 4, 5, 6 for 6-digit numbers from division 900-999 are used when there must be changed number of the train which has more than 24 h delay and there shouldn't be duplicated numbers.

** - Pociągi ratunkowe i próżne składy pasażerskie (tzw. służbowe) w zależności od sytuacji przyjmują różne numery. Przykładowo lokomotywa, która ściąga zdefektowany skład ze szlaku, przyjmie numer tego pociągu z dopisem zera na początku. Natomiast pociąg o (przykładowym) numerze 61107 zjeżdżający na stację postojową przyjmie nowy numer, z zerem na początku od stacji zakończenia biegu dla podróżnych, do stacji postojowej.

WARNING! Riding with zero at the beginning od train number isn't recommended due to that SWDR4 doesn't recognize this zero. In this way train driver has a zero at the beginning but dispatchers see next digits which isn't zero. That can make communication harder and it can make complications..
